Fact #16

When I was moving, actually the same day I lost my mattresses, I hurt my knee. Everyone was leaving the house for the night. I was ready to get home, put on warm clothes and just go to bed. Before we were leaving I asked Andersen if he wanted to stay with Grabby (aka my mom). She had to watch him the next morning anyways, and it would save me the hassle and 30 minutes to get him there. He agreed and off we went...or tried to anyways. As soon as I put him in her car he was crying for me. So out of her car seat and into my car. As soon as he was buckled, he was crying and wanting to stay with Paco (aka my dad). So I take him out of his seat and went to take him back to my mom's car and I fell off the curb...did I mention it's about 9 o'clock and raining? It literally felt like I was falling in slow motion. I had Andersen on my right hip and the minute I knew I tripped, my motherly instincts kicked in and I wrapped my arms around him and placed both of my hands on his head because I knew it was inevitable that we were going to hit the street. I somehow hit my mom's car with the left side of my body and fell with my right side...and since my hands and arms were protecting Andersen, my knee was the only thing that caught the blunt of the fall... So now almost 2 months later, I still cannot kneel. If I do, it feels like I'm kneeling on sharp rocks. Intense pain. And even when I rub it, it gets this numb/tingly feeling...even when I wear my skinny jeans (which I probably shouldn't since I'm oh-so-not-skinny) the fabric irritates my knee... So I'm going to see a family friend who just so happens to be an Orthopedic Surgeon just to make sure nothing else is going on. It probably is just a deep bruise that will take some serious time to heal. But I would rather be safe than sorry. OHHH...and to top it off, 2 days later I was getting gas and decided to do my weekly cleaning of my car. After I was done throwing my trash away I was walking back to my car and I tripped over the hose (that was still pumping gas) and landed directly on my left knee! I was in so much pain, but all I could do was laugh and call myself and idiot...out loud.
