Happy Birthday!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my baby boy... I cannot believe that you are 2! Where has the time gone? When did you grow up? When did you go from being dependant on your father and I to being totally independent? Where to begin: You are absolutely amazing. You are incredibly smart...and sure I may be biased, but I truly believe that you are going to change the world. You only need to be shown once how to do something and you got it down pact...but that is also a bad thing, like the time the neighbor girl taught you to jump off the picnic table bench. It's so wonderful to watch you soak everything up. You are still a man with few words. You are still signing, and slowly learning new sounds, so I'm not worried that you can't really talk. You definitely know what you want, when you want it and you have no problem telling us in other ways! You are very athletic! People that don't even know you always comment on your athletic ability. You have picked up golf, basketball, and baseball without any problems. From watching your father play softball you have now combined golf and softball. You hit the golf ball, run into the other room, come back and slide. It's pretty amazing what you can do. You get those wonderful abilities from your dad. We went to the mall on a rainy day so you could run around the play area, you were hanging with the big kids like always. Watching them climb the big free standing objects and would pick up how they climbed up them the wrong way, and you would follow suite. Right before we were leaving, a lady came up to me and told me that she was a physical therapist and has never seen a child be as coordinated, athletic, and have the advanced gross motor skills that you do for your age. Without a doubt, you will amount to something. Whether it be sports or academics, you will thrive. Leo is your zodiac sign and it couldn't be more spot on. You want your way, especially when you're tired. You love being the center of attention. You can make me pull my hair out one minute, but also have me rolling on the ground laughing the next. You are very independent. I don't know if it's the same for all kids your age or not, but you are independent and stubborn! I may not have given you the athletic abilities, but I sure did give you these two traits! You like to get in the fridge and get your milk/food out. You want to brush your teeth and want no help from us. You have learned to take off your diaper (which isn't fun). You want to buckle yourself in your chair or car seat. You now want to open the door to the car all by yourself. The list could go on to all the things you want to do... You are the best thing in our lives. You give the best 'squeezes', and have one of the sweetest kisses. And you still only like to cuddle when you're about to go to sleep. That is my favorite time of the day, when you lay your head on my shoulder and fall asleep... I cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings...

I have heard about the athletic genes (kip was filling me in on his golf/softball combo). Hilarious! Wish I could have hung out with him more while we were home.

Sounds like the b'day went well. Happy Birthday Andersen!!
