Life in the hospital sucks!
Wednesday at work around 2:30 I started having cramping in my stomach. Thinking it was "the time of the month" I took some medicine to help with the pain. The pain got increasingly worse and I felt really nauseous and a little dizzy. So I left work and drove, yes I know I shouldn't have, home. Less than a mile from my house I look in the mirror and see no color in my lips and I kept seeing black spots in my eyes. I call Kevin and tell him to take me to the "emergency room". We got there at 3:30 and saw a nurse and was put back in the waiting room. There I had some gross entertainment of some people who weren't the cleanest people. The daughter started picking her nose and then it started bleeding. The mom said this always happens when she picks her nose! Then the mom was playing with her dentures (which were store bought per a conversation I heard) oh, the mom was probably right around my age. The father with a naturally curly rat tail was laughing when she was playing with them......gross.
Anyways, I finally go back to the emergency room and had to sit in the hallway because all the rooms were taken. So I finally saw a Dr. at 5:40 and he said he thinks it's my appendix or a cyst on my ovary that has ruptured. So they did a cat scan and saw that my appendix was inflamed, my blood showed my white blood cell count was elevated which means that my body was preparing for infection and I had the tenderness and pain on the right side. So we sat in the emergency room (finally got a room at 8) until 11. Then they took me to an actual room and around 11:15 they said I could have clear liquids until midnight, Thanks! Considering my last meal was at 11:30 Wednesday when I ate lunch. So Kevin left, I stayed waiting to see a dr. Thursday came and almost went. The dr. didn't get around to see me until 10:30 that night! 23 hours after I had been in the room! Ridiculous. He said if I felt better tomorrow or stayed the same (pain wise, no fever, no vomiting) then I could go home and wait it out or stay and have more test done...so I finally left today at noon with lesser pain. I hadn't seen Oz since Wednesday morning when I dropped him off at my mom's and the 1 hour he was at the hospital. I came home showed and now eating a bowl of cereal. My first meal since Wednesday at 11:30! Needless to say I had the worst service and since they didn't seem that concerned about what was going on, neither do I.
Well, that was my 2 1/2 days of hell. Let's hope the pain goes away and I can back to my feet.
Off to see Oz at the in laws.

Amanda,
That sucks!! Emergency rooms must be the biggest racket. Last emergency we had we took Conner to a Redi-med and he was looked at in 15 minutes (just for future reference). Usually some sort of Urgent Care is the way to go. Hope you are feeling better, rested, and enjoying sweet little Oz.
Oh Amanda that sucks! Can't believe that happened. Reminder, will not go to ER unless absolutely have to.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend if you can.
Keely
I feel your pain. The twins were more than worth it, but being in the hospital for more than 2 nights is depressing. Hopefully it's nothing and you don't have to go back.
That's completely unacceptable treatment. You need to call Patty ASAP. Do it now, young lady!
go figure, hospitals are so annoying, that sucks... i hope you are feeling better
Love the pic of Oz!! He is so cute. I tagged you on my blog today (copy and paste it into yours and fill in the blanks). It was kind of fun!
